This review is for the French Bull Melamine Container Set, Set of Three "Mini Storage Set" in the Multi Dot pattern.
When I first glanced at these containers upon opening the Amazon package, I thought they were too small and that I would not be able to find a use for them.
As a note, under "product details," the Amazon page states the product dimensions are 5.5 x 5.5 x 2.5 inches.I thought they were square from the photo and description.In reality, these are round.
The set consists of three round nesting containers, each smaller than the next.The largest is approximately 5.75 inches in diameter by my measurement.The next largest size, the middle sized container, is 4 3/4 inches in diameter.The smallest container is 3 3/4 inches in diameter.
If they were square, they would have held more food.Some will find them handy for small amounts of leftovers, while others will find them not the most practical choice at the Amazon price for three relatively small containers.
They are not for microwave use, so you cannot use them to reheat food in the microwave.
The item description on Amazon states these are "dishwasher safe."This is not entirely true.While the containers are dishwasher safe, the lids are not.You don't find this out until you open up the package and see it printed in very small print on a sticker on the lid. Note: I did go back and find this information further down in the product description, but it would be better served to put it in the "product features" area, where it states the item is "dishwasher safe."
As I examined these containers, they began to grow on me.The lids are snug and securely fitted.I filled the largest container full of water, put the lid on, and turned it upside down.It was secure and did not leak.I shook it, with the container full of liquid, upside down.Still it did not leak.When I re-opened the lid, it made a whooshing sound, much like the sound of a Tupperware lid.They are indeed airtight as advertised.
The largest one holds a tad over 3 cups of liquid.The medium-sized container holds 2 cups of liquid, and the smallest holds 1 cup of liquid.
As the product description states, melamine "does not easily absorb fluids from food, which helps you avoid contaminating your food with harmful bacteria."Melamine is also resistant to high heat and shatterproof.You can use these in the refrigerator or the freezer.
Admittedly these are smaller than I imagined them to be, but I believe I will use these.I may even get the larger, companion set.I wish they would make a rectangular set.
They are stylish and cute, and I love the cheery multi-dot pattern.A nice touch is the French Bulldog "dot" on the smallest container.Even though they are a little pricey, these are keepers.
EDITED TO ADD (on Aug. 12, 2009) I love them so much I ordered two more sets of the French Bull Melamine Container Set, Set of Three "Mini Storage Set" in the Multi Dot pattern, one for a gift and one to keep. I also ordered one of the larger French Bull Melamine "Storage Container Set" in the Multi Dot pattern.The larger ones, also round, measure 7 1/4", 6 1/2", and 5 3/4" and hold 6 cups, between 4-5 cups, and 3 cups respectively.I am extremely pleased with these containers and recommend this item to anyone.

I really like this product.These are replacement heads for the Weber grill brush which is the best grill brush that I have ever owned.It is rock solid and heavy (made of metal) and allows you to really put some muscle behind your scraping.The last brush I had was a plastic Weber brush that I snapped because I was pushing too hard.
